When I first moved to the U.S. from France, I knew nothing about investing. My first job? Teaching horse riding.

And if there’s one thing I learned from guiding people through their fears in the saddle, it’s this: progress happens when you have someone who believes in you and shows you the way.

But when I transitioned into finance, I quickly realized that believing in yourself isn’t always easy when the world doubts you at every turn.

The Day I Realized the Playing Field Wasn’t Equal

I didn’t grow up talking about stocks at the dinner table. I didn’t have wealthy parents handing me a blueprint for investing. But I knew I wanted to understand how to make money work.

So I studied. I became a financial analyst. I passed the Series 7 exam—a tough test that allows professionals to trade securities for clients. And when I finally passed, I proudly told my boss, expecting at least an acknowledgment of my hard work.

Instead? He laughed and said:

"So you expect a raise for passing your exam?"

That moment stuck with me. Not because of the insult, but because of the message.

The message that women should stay in their place. That ambition should be dismissed. That despite proving my knowledge, I still wasn’t being taken seriously.

But that moment also fueled me.

Why I Teach Women to Build Wealth

I’ve been in rooms where I was underestimated. Where people questioned my abilities because of my French accent, my gender, or simply because I didn’t fit their image of a financial expert.

And now? I refuse to let women feel that same self-doubt when it comes to their finances.
